Recruit — The LinkedIn Optimisation Playbook
6 copy-paste prompts to turn your LinkedIn profile into a 24/7 inbound magnet for recruiters, clients, and partners.
Your LinkedIn profile is the single hardest-working asset in your career — but 90% of profiles are a graveyard of job titles and vague accomplishments. This playbook uses 6 stacked AI prompts to systematically rebuild every high-leverage section: the recruiter's 30-second scan, the headline that decides the click, the About section that tells your story, the credibility gaps that quietly cost you interviews, and the inbound engine that gets you contacted instead of ghosted. Paste each prompt into GPT-5.2, Claude, or Gemini. Copy the placeholders. Run in order.
Prompt 1 · The Recruiter's 30-Second Scan
Act as a senior recruiter with experience hiring for competitive roles across multiple industries. Here is my LinkedIn profile: [PASTE PROFILE] Role(s) I want to attract: [TARGET ROLE] Industry: [INDUSTRY] Experience level: [LEVEL] Review my profile as if you had 30 seconds to decide whether to contact me. Analyze my headline, About section, experience, featured content, skills, and overall positioning. Identify what immediately builds credibility, what creates doubt, what feels generic, and what would make me significantly more attractive to recruiters. Finish by listing the five highest-impact improvements in order of priority.
Run this first, before any rewrite. It gives you a diagnosis, not a treatment. The top 5 improvements become your work-list for the remaining 5 prompts.
Prompt 2 · Personal Branding Strategist
Act as a LinkedIn personal branding strategist. My LinkedIn profile: [PASTE PROFILE] My expertise: [EXPERTISE] Audience I want to attract: [TARGET AUDIENCE] Long-term goal: [CAREER GOAL] Evaluate how clearly my profile communicates my expertise, positioning, and unique value. Identify where my messaging blends in with everyone else and rewrite key sections to create stronger differentiation, authority, and memorability without sounding exaggerated or self-promotional.
The word 'blends in' is doing the heavy lifting. Ask the AI to point out any sentence that could belong to 10,000 other profiles. Those are the sentences that die.
Prompt 3 · The Headline Generator
Act as a LinkedIn copywriter specializing in high-converting professional headlines. Current headline: [CURRENT HEADLINE] Role: [ROLE] Industry: [INDUSTRY] Target audience: [AUDIENCE] Primary goal: [JOB OPPORTUNITIES / CLIENTS / NETWORKING / PERSONAL BRAND] Generate 15 headline variations that clearly communicate expertise, credibility, and value. Explain the strategy behind each style and recommend which version is likely to perform best based on my goals.
Ask the AI for 15 (not 5) — you need enough range to see the distinct STYLE choices (specific-outcome vs authority-play vs question-hook vs contrarian). Pick your favourite; A/B test against your current for 30 days.

Prompt 4 · The About Section Rewrite
Act as an executive brand strategist and professional copywriter. Current About section: [PASTE ABOUT SECTION] Career background: [BACKGROUND] Strengths: [STRENGTHS] Audience: [TARGET AUDIENCE] Rewrite my About section so it tells a compelling professional story instead of simply listing achievements. Make it engaging, credible, and focused on the value I create while maintaining an authentic, conversational tone.
Feed the AI a paragraph of how you'd verbally describe your work to a friend at a dinner party. That casual voice usually beats the corporate voice you've been forcing on LinkedIn for years.
Prompt 5 · Hiring-Manager Credibility Audit
Act as a hiring manager evaluating candidates for a highly competitive opportunity. LinkedIn profile: [PASTE PROFILE] Desired position: [POSITION] Analyze my profile and identify every credibility gap that might reduce trust or create hesitation. Point out weak descriptions, missing proof, vague achievements, inconsistent messaging, and areas where stronger evidence would increase confidence. Suggest specific improvements for each issue.
Run this AFTER the About rewrite. Then close every credibility gap the AI flags — one line at a time. This is where 'nice profile' becomes 'hire this person'.
Prompt 6 · Inbound Growth Strategist
Act as a LinkedIn growth strategist focused on inbound opportunities. LinkedIn profile: [PASTE PROFILE] Type of opportunities I want: [CLIENTS / JOB OFFERS / SPEAKING / PARTNERSHIPS / INVESTORS] Analyze how effectively my profile attracts these opportunities. Identify missing trust signals, weak calls to action, positioning issues, and opportunities to increase visibility and credibility. Recommend practical improvements that encourage more profile visitors to reach out.
This is the ONLY prompt that treats your profile as a lead magnet. Every improvement should reduce the friction between 'this person is interesting' and 'let me message them right now'.
The 90-minute execution playbook
- 0–15 min: Run Prompt 1 (Recruiter Scan) — get your top 5 fixes.
